About the Recipe
Delicious and light cookies for family gatherings. A Ward Family Christmas favorite.

Ingredients
½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
⅓ cup sugar
powdered sugar for coating after baking
⅔ cups chopped almonds
1 ⅔ cups sifted flour
¼ teaspoon salt
Preparation
Step 1
Mix shortening, butter, sugar, and nuts
Step 2
Add flour and salt then chill dough
Step 3
Roll chilled dough with hands pencil thick. Cut into 2 1/2 inch lengths.
Step 4
Form into crescents on ungreased baking sheet Bake until set (not brown). Cool on pan then dip in powdered sugar.
